Hello, I’m Gillian.

I have been married for 15 years + have three children (born 2011, 2014, + 2018), all of whom were born at home under the care of loving Midwives + Doulas. I am a Duluth, MN native, but have lived in Wheat Ridge (a suburb of Denver) for about 10 years.

I love to go on neighborhood walks, mountain hikes, + spend a lot of my alone time thrifting. My other passions include homeschooling my kids, reading multiple books at a time, + constantly redecorating my home.

Indie Doula was created out of my deep passion + respect for the sacred postpartum period + because I never had the postpartum experiences that I now know are possible!

As a mother of three, I have had three profoundly different postpartum experiences, but especially my first birth was traumatic + my healing was slow. Breastfeeding was more painful than I had anticipated + I struggled with how to function as a partner, daughter, + friend. My identity was rocked + my body was battered. It was all new to me, so I figured that’s just how motherhood starts, but I was wrong.

Your experience can be different. There’s no way around the emotional, physical, mental, + spiritual changes that take place when a child is added to your family, AND when these changes happen you can all thrive simultaneously. Even if you’ve had children + didn’t enjoy the postpartum time, you can find new ways to redeem that sacred time now.

I started Indie Doula shortly after my sweet niece, Indie was born in 2020. The support that I was invited to give to her parents is what inspired me to take the leap + officially be available to more parents.

I am so honored that you are here!

I love learning + here are my certifications:
